Reply (reply.ai) is a startup on a mission to remove frustration and save people's time when interacting with a business.
We aim to make customer service faster and smarter on both chat and email. For chat-based channels, such as WhatsApp or a web widget, we design and build chatbots that are able to follow simple processes, but also interact with third party systems and apply NLP techniques to understand users’ queries and resolve them in the most efficient way.
We have built successful chatbots for companies such as Coca-Cola, The Cosmopolitan Of Las Vegas, and Samsung, and are VC-backed. We are a team of 17, distributed in several locations: New York, Chicago, Madrid, San Sebastian, and others. We see each other in person through informal meetups and our annual off-sites.
How we work
We do weekly sprints.
The technical team meets on a daily standup and, once a week, the whole company gets together over video-conference.
We use the latest tools. Whatever is most efficient to get the job done: GitHub, Slack, Zoom, Codeship, Intercom, etc.
We are proactive. Initiatives are worth as much as code.
We do retrospectives periodically to keep improving our processes.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for a Bot Developer to join our Solutions team. That is a multi-disciplinary developer, someone that doesn’t mind getting out of their comfort zone, learning new domains, and giving and receiving feedback.
This position is at the intersection of software development, conversational design, NLP, and even technical customer support. It involves three main areas: building microservices so our chatbots interact with external services, building conversational flows with Reply’s flow editor, and designing and tweaking the entity space for NLP models.
You don’t need to be an ML/NLP expert at all. You should be interested in learning about it, though :)

Some knowledge of Python is welcome, but not required.
You are proactive, accountable and detail-oriented. These are important for our culture, where we trust one another's work.
You are flexible. In the Solutions team, our roles have been constantly evolving, and we need you to be willing to learn new skills to stay aligned with our mission as technology and market evolve.
Your English level is very high. You write proficiently, and are comfortable in a call in English.
You communicate well. Both in person and over remote channels.
You have good problem-solving and listening skills. You are comfortable researching your way into a complex problem.
What you will do
You will create conversation-based bots using our platform.
You will create serverless microservices to integrate 3rd party services into our bots and tools.
You will create and tweak NLP agents using Dialogflow and our own tools.
You will provide specialized product support to our customers, including creating working demos, to help them use our platform and tools.
You will collaborate with our Product, Machine Learning and Backend teams to tweak our tools and help improving them.
Together with our Customer Success team, you will join some meetings with customers to provide insights and assistance, and learn first-hand what their needs, worries, and success criteria are.
Competitive salary, depending on your relevant experience, in the 24.000 - 32.000 Euro range.
